“…The poor predictability of the Zurcher et al (1998b) correlation may be due to the fact that: 1) it is not enough to attribute the influence of oil presence on heat transfer only to viscosity change, because other properties, such as density, heat conductivity, surface tension, etc., are also important factors that effect the heat transfer coefficient, 2) the databank of the Zurcher (1998b) model comes from large tubes with an inside diameter of 10.92 mm, and this heat transfer model should be modified for small tubes, and 3) the heat transfer model should consider the effect of oil on flow pattern of a R-410A/oil mixture. Figure 6e shows that the deviation of the Hu et al (2008a) correlation is within -40%-50%.
