Helicobacter pylori infection and relationship with gastric epithelial cell proliferation and apoptosis

Abstract: A 2-year (2007 and 2008) open-field experiment was conducted to study the effects of irrigation on the yield parameters and main antioxidant components (lycopene, phenolic compounds, and ascorbic acid) of processing tomato. Two different treatments were applied: some plants were regularly irrigated, and some had their irrigation cut off 30 days before harvest. Both groups were compared with a rainfed control. Daily irrigation volume was calculated from the average daily temperature to reach optimum water supp… Show more

“…3,4 There is multistep process is being used for managing the issues related to GC and having a significant impact on the Gastric glands, intestinal metaplasia (IM), dysplasia (DYS), and ultimately gastric cancer. 5 Though overall prognosis for all patients is between 4% to 13% According to analysis, the 5-year survival rate was 46% and 89% for "early" carcinoma. 6 The outcome of the gastric cancer depends upon the prognostic factors as tumour staging and size, lymph node status, lympho-vascular invasion and molecular biomarkers like tumour suppressor gene & proliferation marker like ki-67.…”

“…Several factors involved in regulating the equilibrium between apoptosis and proliferation include Bcl2 family proteins, p53, CD95 (Fas), and caspases. Neutrophil activation, oxidative stress, stress-induced protein genes, caspase 8 activation, the Bcl2 family, p53 transcription factor, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha may be involved in leading up to apoptosis [8]. Upregulation of apoptosis protectors Bcl2 proteins may supply cells with a survival advantage and hence play a role in carcinogenic pathway [9].…”
