Helium Isotope Geochemistry of Ultrahigh‐Pressure Metamorphic Eclogites From the Dabie‐Sulu Terrane in East China

Abstract: The 3He/4He ratios of most eclogites from the Dabie‐Sulu terrane range from 0.056 to 0.67 Ra; the data points fall into the mixing part of the crust and the mantle in the 3He‐4He diagram. The 3He/4He ratios of eclogites are obviously correlated with the types of their surrounding rocks. The helium isotope composition of the eclogites from the Bixiling complex possesses characters of mantle‐derived rocks with the 3He/4He ratio being 5.6 Ra. The 4He concentration of the eclogites exhibits visible inverse correla… Show more

“…and even the contemporary global plate motion models of ITRF sequences based on the space geodetic data (Zhang et al, 1999;Jin and Zhu 2002). In fact, the deformation zones of East Asia are very complicated (Molnar and Lyon-Caen, 1989;Li Yanhe et al, 2000;Liu et al, 2000). Zonenshain and Savostin (1981) agree that eastern Asia consists of several micro-plates.…”

“…Since the 1960s when the models of seafloor spreading and plate tectonics were established, the large Eurasian plate is considered an independent rigid plate in some global plate motion models, such as RM2, PO71 and NNR-NUVELlA (DeMets et al, 1990;Argus and Heflin, 1995).
