Helminths get MIFfed by the tuft cell – ILC2 circuit

Abstract: A new study by Varyani et al. identifies that macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is required to mount a strong type 2 immune response in the gut. Such immune response is required to properly expel the helminth Nippostrongylus brasiliensis, for example by activating goblet cells to secrete RELM‐β.
