Accumulated evidence from acoustical studies, neuro-imaging, neuropsychology, and neuro-anatomy suggests right hemisphere activation during suprasegmental features processing in adults and children (Baum & Pell, 1999;Friederici & Alter, 2004;Gandour, et al, 2004;Jusczyk, 1997;Shipley-Brown, Dingwall, Berlin, Yeni-Komshian, &Gordon-Salant, 1988) Tucker, Watson, andHeilman (1977), as major proponents of the view that right hemisphere controls prosody, conducted a research with 16 participants including eight right hemispheredamaged patients and eight normal control subjects and concluded that the right hemisphere was involved in the production of affective prosody.
