Hemodynamic Allostasis of Pregnant Women against the Background of Preeclampsia

Abstract: We analyzed diurnal hemodynamic parameters (HR, systolic BP, and diastolic BP) recorded from two groups of edematous and preeclamptic pregnant women. The unidirectional character of changes in the control over the functional state of cardiovascular system was revealed except for the indices, which mark a pathological process: elevated diurnal BP in preeclampsia and diminished percentage of oscillation power in edematous patients. Uniformity of the regulatory changes in patients with and without arterial hypert… Show more

“…Thus, the analysis of the results of the study suggests that violations of the cardiovascular system of patients with arterial hypertension without metabolic syndrome occur at different levels of regulation and allows us to regard this condition not as homeostasis, but as allostasis [4][5][6][7][8][9]. For the first time, B.S.…”

“…It should be noted that the concept of hemodynamic allostasis as a factor of allostatic load was used by the authors for the first time when analyzing hemodynamics in pregnant women with EH, and it is associated with hypervolemia during pregnancy [61]. Previous studies have also established that allostatic load in patients with EH [19] without metabolic syndrome does not depend on patients' age and can be considered a general characteristic of EH [4].…”
