Abstract: Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infects at least 150 million people chronically worldwide. It is a major risk factor for cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and death. Direct-acting antiviral therapy is very efficacious in treating HCV infection but it is inaccessible and unavailable in some developing countries.
