Heterogeneity-conscious parallel query execution

Abstract: Physical and thermal restrictions hinder commensurate performance gains from the ever increasing transistor density. While multi-core scaling helped alleviate dimmed or dark silicon for some time, future processors will need to become more heterogeneous.
