Hexaphosphanylamine Ligands: 1,1,4,7,10,10‐Hexakis(diphenylphosphanyl)‐triethylenetetramine Complexes of Chromium, Molybdenum, and Tungsten

Abstract: The oligophosphanylamine ligand 1,1,4,7,10,10-hexakis(diphenylphosphanyl)triethylenetetramine (1) was obtained from the reaction of triethylenetetramine with six equivalents of chlorodiphenylphosphine in good yield. Ligand 1 was treated with three equivalents of [Cr(CO) 4 (MeCN) 2 ], [Mo(CO) 4 (nbd)] (nbd = norbornadiene), or [W(CO) 4 (MeCN) 2 ] in toluene to give the trinuclear tetracarbonyl complexes [{M(CO2307 Scheme 2. Synthesis of hexaphosphanylamine 1 and trinuclear group 6 metal tetracarbonyl complexes … Show more

“…data reports (Al-Masri et al, 2013;Biricik et al, 2003;Gaw et al, 2000Gaw et al, , 2002Majoumo et al, 2004;Majoumo-Mbe et al, 2015;Payne et al, 1965). The P-N bond lengths [range from 1.6462 (13) to 1.7185 (13) Å ] are noticeably shortened compared to the calculated sum of the covalent radii by Pyykkö [single: AErcov(P-N) = 1.82 Å ; Pyykkö, 2015] and show some multiple-bond character [double: AErcov(P=N) = 1.62 Å ; Pyykkö, 2015].…”
