Hibiscus Sabdariffa L. Nanoparticles Offer a Preventive Potential Against Experimental Ehrlich Solid Carcinoma

Abstract: Hibiscus sabdariffa L. has been widely cultivated in tropical areas, usually used in treatment of many disorders. Thus, in our study we aimed to evaluate the effect of dairy desserts supplemented with nanoform of Hibiscus sabdariffa L. extract (NHSE) against Ehrlich solid carcinoma (ESC) in mice. The NHSE was prepared by soaked the fine powder of plant in 90% ethanol by cold extraction. NHSE was evaluated using dynamic light scattering (DLS) and transmission electron microscope (TEM), then the prepared NHSE wa… Show more

“…Specific primers for p53, cdk1, caspase-3, txnrd1 and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) as a house-keeping gene ( Table 5 ), were used in reverse transcription (RT) and q-PCR. RT and q-PCR were executed as described previously 53 using Maxima SYBR Green qPCR Master Mix (Bioline, London, UK). Every sample ( n = 4) was analyzed in triplicate.…”

“…The use of nanocarriers has several benefits, including overcoming the different biological barriers that restrict therapeutic utilization of targets and improving the oral bioavailability of hydrophobic compounds [56]. Furthermore, the efficacy of some natural compounds in the form of nanoparticles (NPs) has been demonstrated to be enhanced in various diseases such as cancer [21,[57][58][59], liver fibrosis [60], Alzheimer [61], acute kidney injury [14],gastric ulcer [62], postmenopausal complications [63], and wound healing [64].…”
