High-energy elastic diffractive scattering of nucleons in the framework of the two-Reggeon eikonal approximation (from U-70 to LHC)

Abstract: Elastic diffractive scattering of nucleons is described in terms of Regge-eikonal approach. It is demonstrated that, in a wide kinematic region (starting from the U-70 energies), the eikonal of proton–proton scattering can be approximated by the sum of two Reggeon exchange terms (namely, the so-called soft Pomeron and f-Reggeon contributions). The range of applicability of the considered approximation is determined. The predictive value of the proposed phenomenological scheme is verified.

“…Accordingly, the D0 and TOTEM collaborations claimed that they accomplished the first experimental observation of the odderon! There were heated discussions and debates on this topic [939,940,941,942,943,944,945,946,947,948,949,950,951,952], which are mainly on the contribution of the odderon exchange in certain collisions. It is also important to directly study the odderon as well as the three-gluon glueball themselves.…”

“…We emphasize that in the present paper it is not our purpose to perform a precision fit to the available experimental data on these quantities, say, from ISR to LHC energies. Such fits have been, for instance, given in [54][55][56][57][58][59][60]. Our aim here is to obtain a reasonable description of the data mainly at √ s = 13 TeV.…”
