Abstract: Following acute myocardial infarction, the recovery of blood flow leads to myocardial ischemia-reperfusion (MI/R) injury, which is primarily characterized by the activation of inflammatory signals, microvascular obstruction, increased oxidative stress and excessive Ca 2+ overload.
