Abstract: High frequency jet ventilation (HFJV) experiments were performed in healthy anaesthetized mongrel dogs via a multilumen tracheal jet tube to examine the influence of gas flow, ventilatory frequency and inspiration time (as a percentage of the total ventilatory cycle) on gas exchange.
