High genetic diversity in Aegilops tauschii Coss. accessions from North Iran as revealed by IRAP and REMAP markers

Abstract: Background Aegilops tauschii Coss. as a donor of wheat D genome has an important role in wheat breeding programs. Genetic and phylogeographic diversity of 79 Ae. tauschii accessions collected from north and northwest of Iran were analyzed based on retroelement insertional polymorphisms using inter-retrotransposon amplified polymorphism (IRAP) and retrotransposon-microsatellite amplified polymorphism (REMAP) markers. Results In total, 306 and 151 po… Show more

“…tauschii, which partially or completely suppressed the qP activity. Moreover, drought and other abiotic stresses also affect large-scale chlorophyll uorescence in Beta vulgaris, Coronnilla varia, P. mongolica and L. ruthenicum [50,51]. Drought stress can destroy plant cell membrane systems [52], and many studies have shown that CAT, POD, MDA, and free proline accumulate in plants under drought stress to maintain the dynamic balance of the antioxidant system [53,54].…”
