High Performance Decoupling Current Control by Linear Extended State Observer for Three-Phase Grid-Connected Inverter With an LCL Filter

Abstract: Compared with traditional single L-type filters, LCL filters for three-phase grid-connected inverters can suppress the switching voltage and current ripple better, thus reducing harmonic pollution to the power grid. However, the increase in system order also makes it difficult to control the system. To solve the problems of complex model and severe coupling of LCL filter in the d-q coordinate system, the decoupling control of current inner loop by the linear extended state observer (LESO) was proposed based on… Show more

“…The Bode diagram of the transfer function Φ r (s) with different ω c has been studied in [19][20][21][22]25,26], so they are not mentioned in this paper. The Bode diagrams of the transfer function Φ d (s) and Φ n (s) are given in Figure 5, where ρ = 1 and ω c = 2000 rad/s.…”

“…In terms of the gridconnected inverter current control, the Pade approximation is used to reduce the plant order, and a first-order LADRC is applied to deal with parameter variation and disturbances [19]. The coupling between the dq axis is regarded as a part of the total disturbance and is observed by LESO, so the inner current loop is decoupled in [20]. The derivative of the reference signal is added into LSEF, so the voltage steady-state error is reduced [21].…”

“…In order to improve the performance of bus voltage control, scholars put forward sliding mode control [8], model predictive control [9,10], adaptive backstepping control [2,11], two-degree-of-freedom control [12], feedback linearization control [13,14], feedforward decoupling control [15,16], etc. ese methods have achieved good results, but they do not consider the external disturbance problem and rely on the mathematical model of the system.…”

“…Nevertheless, the Kalman filter inverse matrix calculation may take more time in practice. Extended state observers are applied for the single and threephase LCL filters with only one grid-side current sensor (Bu¨yu¨k et al, 2016;Zhang et al, 2020b). Although excellent sensor reduction is done by this type of observer, the grid impedance variation effect is not discussed.…”
