This review article explores the use of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as material enhancers in construction and their advantages. It emphasizes ongoing research to gather accurate data on CNT-enhanced material properties and their role in creating more efficient and stronger building materials. The various methods of obtaining and incorporating CNTs into building materials, including chemical vapor deposition and electric arc synthesis, are discussed. A comparative analysis of building materials with and without CNTs is presented to examine their characteristics. The article also discusses future prospects for CNTs in various industries. The study aims to investigate experimental methods for obtaining CNTs, their properties, and their introduction into building materials. The research methodology involves studying literature sources, analyzing experimental results, and examining the structural, mechanical, and electronic properties of CNTs. Analytical methods based on scientific articles and publications related to CNTs in construction were used to ensure the article's reliability, validity, completeness, and objectivity. The research highlights CNTs' potential as material enhancers in construction, owing to their unique mechanical properties, such as high strength, stiffness, and corrosion resistance. Specific studies demonstrating the use of CNTs to increase the strength of concrete and other construction materials are provided, indicating the promising application of CNTs in future construction projects. However, technical challenges must be addressed, and appropriate standards and regulations should be developed before practical implementation.

This study investigated the influence of commercially available food preservatives: Natamax® (containing natamycin) and Nisaplin® (containing nisin) on the antimicrobial properties of LDPE film, commonly used for food packaging. Studies have shown that the addition of 3% Natamax® or, alternatively, the addition of 5% Nisaplin® provides an LDPE film with effective antimicrobial protection. The applied biocides did not significantly affect the strength and rheological properties of LDPE. However, differences in optical properties were observed. The transparency of the samples decreased slightly with the addition of 3% or 5% Natamax® (by approx. 1% and 3%, respectively). A significant change was observed in the film haze, the addition of 5% Natamax® increased this parameter by approx. 80%, while 5% Nisaplin® increased it by approx. 19%. Both Natamax® and Nisaplin® agents can be successfully used to manufacture food packaging materials with antimicrobial protection. Natamax® showed a stronger bactericidal effect, while Nisaplin® changed other properties less significantly.

The utilization of gypsum reinforced composites as building materials has garnered considerable attention owing to their exceptional amalgamation of mechanical strength, fire resistance, and versatile applications. This review initiates by introducing gypsum as a pivotal mineral in construction, subsequently exploring the concept of composite materials and elucidating the synergistic effects achieved through reinforcement. Various reinforcement types, such as fibers, polymers, and particles, are meticulously evaluated for their contributions in augmenting mechanical properties, acoustic and thermal insulation, as well as fire resistance in gypsum composites. The review extensively discusses the mechanical attributes of gypsum composites, focusing on compressive strength and flexural behavior enhancements attained through strategic reinforcement methods. Looking ahead, the review emphasizes ongoing research endeavors dedicated to refining material formulations, exploring cutting-edge technologies, and uncovering innovative applications. By addressing challenges and capitalizing on advantages, these composites stand poised to revolutionize conventional building practices, bolster sustainability, and enhance safety and efficiency in built environments.
