High‐Performance SERS Substrate Based on Hierarchical 3D Cu Nanocrystals with Efficient Morphology Control

Abstract: Cu nanocrystals of various shapes are synthesized via a universal, eco-friendly, and facile colloidal method on Al substrates using hexadecylamine (HDA) as a capping agent and glucose as a reductant. By tuning the concentration of the capping agent, hierarchical 3D Cu nanocrystals show pronounced surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) through the concentrated hot spots at the sharp tips and gaps due to the unique 3D structure and the resulting plasmonic couplings. Intriguingly, 3D sword-shaped Cu crystals ha… Show more

“…[40] Thec haracteristic peaks at 932.3 eV and 952.2 eV correspond to the Cu 2p 3/2 and Cu 2p 1/2 orbitals of Cu + with the shoulder peaks at 934.3 eV and 954.2 eV confirming the presence of Cu 2+ (Figure 4b). [41][42][43] TheCu2pspectrum shifts to alower binding energy compared with Cu 1.81 S, indicating the electron-rich state. [44] Thep eak shifts in the XPS spectra of Co and Cu suggest that the incorporated Cu-S species might act as electronic donors in CoO/Co-Cu-S-2.…”

“…47 In recent years, SPR effect-modified photodetectors have attracted many interest for their enhanced light absorption and detection sensitivity. 32,[105][106][107][108][109] Wu et al 110 designed 2D + 0D photodetectors based on Ag shell-isolated nanoparticles (SHIN)-decorated MoS 2 . Due to the large localized SPR effect, the PL intensity and photoresponse of the monolayer MoS 2 were dramatically enhanced.…”

“…Figure 6B illustrates SEM views of the microareas of the three types of substrates. To study the relationship between Raman EFs and different morphologies, the effects of the diameter of NP and nanogap were considered to evaluate SERS performance [55]. The size and spacing of Au NPs significantly affect local surface plasmon resonance.…”
