High-pressure transport properties of cadmium and zinc Arsenides

Abstract: The transport properties of n CdAs 2 have been studied under increasing and decreasing hydro static (p ≤ 9 GPa) and quasi hydrostatic (p ≤ 50 GPa) pressures. We have identified three phase transitions in n CdAs 2 and two phase transitions in p ZnAs 2 . According to temperature dependent resistivity data, the con ductivity of the materials is determined by activation mechanisms in the temperature range 250-400 K, with a temperature dependent activation energy.
