“…The positive TST results in our study patients with hepatic failure were lower (15.9%) in comparison with reported positive TST in liver recipients in Canada (24.2%) and Italy (40%) (2,26). The positive TST in renal transplant candidates in our study was 21.9% in comparison with 62.5% of kidney recipients in Taiwan (7,8) and 23.6% in Tabriz, Iran (27). Lower rate of positive TST in our patients could be explained by different demographic characteristics of study patients, different cutoff point for positive TST (>10 mm vs. 5 mm), and more severe organ damage in our patients.…”

“…11,12 Despite this alarming situation, few studies have explored the relationship between diabetes and tuberculosis-related outcomes in China. [13][14][15][16][17] We conducted a population-based cohort study in eastern China to further understand the relationship between diabetes and tuberculosis infection. We examined whether diabetics were at increased odds of tuberculosis infection using both the QuantiFERON-TB (QFT) Gold In-Tube and tuberculin skin tests (TST) and further investigated whether undiagnosed diabetics were at differential infection risk.…”

“…However, IGRAs could probably offer higher sensitivity than the TST in elderly or immunocompromised populations with waning or poor T cell response. 7,8 Isoniazid monotherapy for LTBI treatment is still the standard drug of choice for LTBI treatment. A recently introduced alternative regimen for LTBI is 12 doses of once weekly rifapentine (900 mg) plus isoniazid (900 mg).…”
