Abstract:We report high-pulse-energy ultrafast 3 µm laser generation through optical parametric generation/difference frequency generation (OPG/DFG) in periodically poled magnesium-oxide-doped lithium niobate (PPMgLN). A commercial 1030 nm femtosecond laser is applied as the pump light and a homemade broadband nanosecond pulse laser around 1580 nm is used as the signal light in DFG.
