High-quality-draft genome sequence of the multiple heavy metal resistant bacterium Pseudaminobacter manganicus JH-7T

Abstract: Pseudaminobacter manganicus JH-7T (= KCTC 52258T = CCTCC AB 2016107T) is a Gram-staining-negative, aerobic and non-motile strain that was isolated from a manganese mine. The strain JH-7T shows multiple heavy metal resistance and can effectively remove Mn2+ and Cd2+. In addition, it is able to produce exopolysaccharides (EPS), which may contribute to metal remove/adsorption. Thus, strain JH-7T shows a great potential in bioremediation of heavy metal-contaminated environment. In this study, we report the draft g… Show more

“…Moreover, heavy metal resistant genes to Manganese (Mn 2+ ) and Cd 2+ in addition to exopolysaccharides production (EPS) were documented upon WGS analysis in Pseudaminobacter manganicus isolated from a manganese mine. This aspect sheds light on metal removal/adsorption and reflects bioremediation capabilities in contaminated regions (Xia et al, 2018). In A. baumannii, WGS analysis revealed the role of two integrases in the excision and circularization of heavy metal resistance (GIs) in E. coli (Al-Jabri et al, 2018).…”

“…ASV14 belongs to the genus Pseudaminobacter . Species in Pseudaminobacter are sulfur-oxidant or pesticide degrading [ 103 106 ]. ASV60 belong to genus Shinella , whose members are known to fix nitrogen and degrade nicotine and chlorothalonil [ 107 – 109 ].…”

“…86 Pseudaminobacter, more abundant in the 50 ppm Gd and Y reactors, includes at least one species, P. manganicus, with multiple metal heavy metal resistance and the capacity to remove Mn 2+ and Cd 2+ from mining wastewater, possibly through a mechanism related to extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) production. 87 Macellibacteroides, more abundant in the 50 ppm Gd reactor, was identified as one of the top three most abundant genera after 116 days of operation in an anaerobic granular sludge blanket reactor developed to remove selenate in the presence of Cd 2+ and Zn 2+ . 88 Sandaracinobacter sp., more abundant in the 50 ppm Gd reactor, demonstrated resistance to up to 220 mg/L of TeO 3 2− , 89 and Sphingomonas sp., more abundant in the 50 ppm Y reactor, are Cu resistant.…”
