High resolution mass spectra of mono-, di-and trihydroxy stereoisomers of bile acids

Abstract

High resolution mass spectra were measured for six monohydroxy, 12 dihydroxy and eight trihydroxy isomers of methyl SP-cholanates, which differ from one another in the position and configuration of hydroxyl groups at C-3, C-7 andfor C-12. Characteristic fragment ions serving to distinguish between the isomers are discussed.
