High School Transcript as a Set of "Nonreactive" Measures for Predicting College Success and Major Field.

Abstract: The present investigation sought to uncover the relationship between patterns of high school preparation and college success and major-field choice. High school transcripts were broken into five categories of classes: English, mathematics, science, history, and foreign language. The number of classes in each category as well as the average grade in each category were used as dependent variables for comparing male and female college students in different major fields.
