“…[1]) nor the databases [14,15] contain the information on the absorption by H 2 18 O or H 2 17 O between 14,500 and 16,500 cm À 1 . On the other hand, according to variational calculations [16], there are at least three bands in this region: 2ν 1 þ3ν 2 þν 3 (ν 0 ¼15,050 cm À 1 ), 2ν 1 þν 2 þ2ν 3 (ν 0 ¼15,265 cm À 1 ) and 3ν 1 þν 2 þ ν 3 (ν 0 ¼ 15,280 cm À 1 ) with respective integral intensities 1.4 Â 10 À 23 , 0.44 Â 10 À 23 , and 8.8Â 10 À 23 cm/molecule at 296 K. It was shown [17,18] that the use of high luminance LED emitters as the light sources in Fourier transform spectrometers permits one to enhance their threshold sensitivity in the visible range by orders of magnitude. The purpose of this research is to investigate thoroughly the Н 2 18 О absorption spectrum between 15,000 and 16,000 cm À 1 recorded by a Fourier transform spectrometer using the high luminance LEDs as light sources.…”
