We applied high gradient magnetic separation (HGMS) system [1]- [5] to the waste fluid by using superconducting magnet and magnetic filters to obtain strong magnetic field and magnetic gradient, which can achieve high-speed and large amount processing. One of the issues for magnetic separation is that the solid content in the polishing wastewater is in aggregated state by addition of flocculant, and there is a possibility that not only ferrous particle but also ceria particle are removed together by magnetic force.…”
