High TechIHigh Touch; Academic Libraries Respond to Change in the Behavioral Sciences

Abstract: Four of the ten major societal changes identified by John Naisbitt in his book Megatrends have particular implications for behavioral science education today. The four are the high techlhigh touch phenomenon, a continuing need to reconceptualize purposes, the growth of self-help skills, and a concern with more and effectwe networking. This paper will examine changes in behavioral science education in the light of these trends and suggest some appropriate library responses to the trends.
