“…Ion exchange has emerged as a promising approach for the radionuclide extration owing to the easy operation and high efficiency, and great progress has been made on the Cs + and/or Sr 2+ adsorption studies on zeolites, [13,14] clays, [15] phosphates, [16,17] titanate, [6,18] ferric oxide, [19] graphene oxide, [20] metalorganic frameworks (MOFs), [21,22] metal chalcogenides, [23,24] etc. Depending on the elimination and recovery purposes for mixed Cs + and Sr 2+ , two distinct functions−coadsorption and separation−would be considered as two primary requirements for the development of ion exchangers.…”

“…To compare the XPS of potassium ions of K 2 [(AlF 5 )H 2 O] and K 2 [(AlF 5 )H 2 O]−Sr (Figure 6b), the characteristic peaks of K 2p at 294 eV and K 2 s at 359 eV are significantly weakened after Sr 2+ adsorption (Figure 6c). [63,64] In K 2 [(AlF 5 )H 2 O]−Sr, Sr only has one wide peak because the characteristic peaks of Sr 3d 5/2 (~133 eV), Sr 3d 3/2 (~135 eV) are very close to each other (Figure 6d). [65] By comparing the XPS spectra of aluminum and fluorine ions in K 2 [(AlF 5 )H 2 O] and K 2 [(AlF 5 )H 2 O]−Sr, a noticeable shift was observed in the characteristic peak of Al 2p from 74.2 eV to 78.9 eV, as well as in the characteristic peak of F 1s from 685.8 eV to 689.3 eV following the exchange process (Figure 6e and 6f).…”

“…This was achieved by exfoliating ZrP in the presence of TBAOH followed by surface functionalization with (SO 3 H) groups. 264 The ZrP-SO 3 H material exhibits a promising adsorption selectivity for Sr 2+ ions with a q m value of 183.21 mg g −1 . Higher adsorption affinity arises mainly due to surface abundant SO 3 H groups, in addition to a high specific surface area.…”
