Highly Sensitive Detection of Residual Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride with Solid Substrate Room Temperature Phosphorimetry

Abstract: Under the condition of 60 °C and 20 min at pH 6.12, chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CPZ) could react with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) to produce FITC-CPZ, which increased the π-electron density (δ) of carbon atom in FITC conjugated system and the room temperature phosphorescence (RTP) intensity of FITC. Thus, a new solid substrate room temperature phosphorimetry (SSRTP) for the determination of residual CPZ was established. The regression equation of working curve was ΔI (p) = 4.254… Show more

“…However, the extra amounts of this drug may have adverse effects on human health. The lethal dose of CPZ in the blood is 5-10 mg L À 1 [5]. Furthermore, due to the side effects and toxicities that the drug can have, the quality of it is important in terms of its active pharmaceutical ingredients [6].…”

“…Among the methods used for determination of CPZ such as spectrophotometry [7][8][9][10][11], electrochemiluminescence [12], fluorimetric [13], chromatography [14,15], phosphorimetry [5], the electrochemical methods, especially the voltammetric methods [16,17] have received increasing attention, due to their simplicity, rapidity, portability, cost-effectiveness, and sensitivity. Voltammetric sensors based on platinum disk [18], ruthenium [19], alkylthiol/phospholipid-modified gold electrode [20], graphene paste electrode [21] and multiwalled carbon nanotube-polyethyleneimine (MWCNT-PEI) composite modified GCE [17] have been reported.…”

“…New SSRTP for the chlorpromazine hydrochloride [22], quercetin [23], rhamnose [24], and carvedilol [25] detection promoted the progress in study of trace drugs analysis. However, SSRTP for the determination of trace Cyt C and forecast of human diseases has been rarely reported based on the enhancing effect of tween-80 on RTP of F-ol.…”

“…This is known to be a significant issue when studying the permeability of very lipophilic compounds. 174,175 The detailed data in Table 3.5 show the differences in the rate of absorbance, P app , and transport of 3.6 (PhIP) in the presence of BPs and their dimethyl esters. The absorption of 3.6 (PhIP) across a confluent Caco-2 cell monolayer was measured in the absence of any other additive and it exhibited a very high rate of transport from AP to BL, with total amount increasing from 0 to 180 min and reaching nearly 70% of 3.6 (PhIP) crossing to the BL after 180 min and with a P app of 1.74 x 10 -5 cm/s (Table 3.1 and Table 3.5).…”
