Histopathological Alterations of the Gill, Liver and Idney of the Fish Catla Catla (Hamilton) Exposed to Dichlorvos 76% Ec (Nuvan)

Abstract: The fish, Catla catla exposed to an organophosphate Dichlorvos 76% EC (Nuvan) in the laboratory for 10 days in sublethal concentration as 1/10th of 96h LC50 value (1.445 µg/l). The architectural damages of the entry point of the gill, the respiring organ was damaged that impairs the process of respiration. As heterotrophic organisms, the fish depend on the respiring gas for the metabolism which is effected and as a result the growth can be curtailed.
