The placenta is an organ between the mother and fetus necessary for fetal growth and development. Gestational diabetes mellitus (DM) is the most frequent metabolic condition detected during pregnancy. It is characterized as hyperglycemia of various severity with onset or first detection during pregnancy that does not clearly describe any form of preexisting diabetes. Urotensin II (UII), a pluripotent vasoactive peptide, is important in developing insulin resistance. This study aimed to determine the level of Urotensin II(UII) in placenta and in the serum of diabetic and nondiabetic women. Methods The blood and placenta tissue collected from 50 ladies had been enrolled in this research ( 25 females with uncomplicated), (25 women with gestational diabetes). Immunohistochemistry (IHC) was used to look at the expression of the Urotensin II (UII) marker in placenta specimens. The IHC analysis revealed that Urotensin II expression was primarily found in placental cytotrophoblast and the syncytiotrophoblast. Results of an immunohistochemistry investigation using the Urotensin II (UII) marker revealed a significant increase (p ≤ 0.001) in diabetic women’s placentas and serum than control groups. Conclusion, the Urotensin II is mainly located in the cytotrophoblast and syncytiotrophoblast. That was significantly higher in the gestational DM group.

The current study, performed during the period from February 2021 to June 2022 at the University of Thi- Qar/ College of Education for Pure Sciences, and aimed to follow the changes in external morphological features at different Embryonic developmental stages in pregnant rats treated with different doses of amlodipine. Usage In this study, 18 pregnant rats were randomly divided into three groups, each with six pregnant rats. Each group received different concentrations of amlodipine (0.3, 0.5) in oral doses until the 20th day of gestation, while the control group was injected with 0.9% normal saline. Teratomas are bizarre tumors derived from embryonic tissue that are normally found only in the gonadal and sacral regions of adults. Primary retroperitoneal teratomas are rare and present challenging management options. In one outcome, a teratoma was found in one of the amlodipine-treated groups. Complete excision of the teratoma mass was performed.

The study evaluated the use of vitamin D3 in the restoration of damaged histological architectures components of thyroid tissue. Materials and Methods AnimalsAll protocols of experimental animals were applied according to Authorized guidelines of care and use of laboratory animals in education faculty for pure science /Thi-Qar university. This study was gotten approval by Thi-Qar university ethical committee for animal research(Issue7/30/439-Date11/10/2022). Eighteen male rats Rattus norvegicus (200 -250 ± 50g) were use in the study. The rats were put in the animal house in the college of Education Pure Sciences in Thi-Qar university under standard conditions of temperature (22 ± 25)ºC and lighting (12:12hr light: dark cycle) for two weeks before and during the study , The rats were maintained on rat feed and tap water ad-libitum. Experimental designThe animals were randomly divided into 3 groups (6 rats in each group) as follows: Group1: (negative control): received normals saline (N.S) intraperitoneal (IP) injection for 35 days. Group2: (Hyperprolactinemia group): The animals received a single dose of metoclopramide (MC) 2.2 mg/Kg b.wt to induce hyperprolactinemia daily by intraperitoneal injection for 14 days according. 11 Group3: (Hyperprolactinemia group treated with vitamin D) Received 0.5 mL of Vitamin D for 28 days by intraperitoneal injection (5 μg/kg b.wt). 12 At the end of the experiment, animals of each group were anesthetize by ether and sacrificed, thyroid gland of all groups were removed and kept in 10% formalin for histopathological study.
