A survey of students and in-service teachers showed that the awareness of the need for professional self-development occurs already in the process of training at a pedagogical university. The question of finding tools to stimulate this process among in-service teachers remains open.The case study is based on a specially modelled real professionalpractical situation to analyze and identify problem areas, search for alternative ways to resolve it, and select the most optimal and acceptable one for a particular respondent. This technology provides both the interiorization of knowledge already known to science and the acquisition of objectively new knowledge located in the subject area of the case being solved. Thus, the potential of a case study allows us to consider it as a real pedagogical tool for stimulating the professional self-development of a teacher. The purpose of the study is to identify this potential and describe a possible approach to its implementation to stimulate the professional self-development of a teacher-educator. The following methods were chosen: a review of scientific and methodological literature on the research problem; systematization of research ideas; questioning; generalization of empirical experience. A questionnaire survey of future and practising teachers showed their readiness to master this tool of professional self-development in the absence of experience in its direct use to solve the problem. The developed approach assumes a phased deployment of an acquaintance of students and practising teachers with a case study as a tool for professional self-development and presupposes involvement in the design of cases.

An appeal to the personalistic component of the history of mathematics, stories about scientists who have contributed to its development, contribute to the implementation of the educational aspect in the teaching of mathematics. A question arises: how can a mathematics teacher shape the moral qualities of a child, including patriotic and international feelings; what pedagogical means he can use at the same time; how to prepare a teacher for this type of activity at a university. Based on the purpose of the study, the case study method was chosen as the main tool, which allowed us to carefully study the data (biographical materials) in a certain context (in terms of their educational potential). Biographies of outstanding mathematicians were analyzed and cases related to the manifestation of their qualities in various life situations were identified. The publications and experience of teachers were considered in terms of the possibility of including this material in the process of teaching mathematics. The empirical experience of implementing the process of training a teacher-educator in the framework of teaching methodological and mathematical disciplines and organizing extracurricular activities of a professional orientation was generalized. As a result, the main directions of work on the implementation of educational activities through the appeal to the patterns of behavior of the creators of mathematics were identified: the creation of biographical essays and the preparation of presentations that reveal personal experience and career trajectory; the inclusion in the discussion of the actions and facts from the life of outstanding mathematicians; the inclusion in the discussion of actions and facts from the life of these wonderful people; preparation of brief historical notes on the discoveries of Russian mathematicians of different historical periods and other near-mathematical events; making presentations, wall newspapers (traditional or interactive) or video clips, organizing mathematical holidays, etc. The practical significance of the materials of this article lies in the fact that the developed system of work, including getting to know the cases from the life of scientists in the framework of training sessions, setting practice-oriented tasks for organizing independent work of students and organizing extracurricular educational activities in the form of group projects, contributes to the formation of the future teacher's readiness to use the educational potential of cases from the life of scientists in educational work.

The Use of Non-Standard Problems with Matches When Teaching Younger Schoolchildren

The article deals with the actual problem of the intellectual development of primary schoolchildren by including in the work of non-standard tasks of a search nature, the use of sign-symbolic means of presenting information, which allow you to create models of the objects and processes under study. Among the non-standard are the problems with matches described by the authors in the form of visual calculating material, the search for a solution to which makes it possible to intensify the mental activity of students of this age category, to develop their fine motor skills of hands and mathematical observation. The article describes a methodology for the step-by-step familiarization of junior schoolchildren with simple and more complex transformations and manipulations with matches as geometric objects, the consistent formation of an independent creative approach in children to the choice of schemes for solving non-standard educational and practical problems.
