Abstract: BackgroundHepatitis B (HBV) co-infection increases the risk for liver-related morbidity among HIV-infected patients. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) guidelines for the management of HIV/HBV co-infection recommend six-monthly monitoring of blood tests.
