“…We observed a significant increase of DRB1*03:01 (p<10 -6 , Odds Ratio (OR) =11.0), DRB1*04:01 (p<0.01, OR=6.4) and DRB1*04:05 (p<0.03, OR=5) in the patients ( Figure 1a) using high resolution typing method of polymerase chain reaction followed by hybridization with sequence specific oligonucleotide probes(PCR-SSOP) (Rani et al, 2004, Rani et al, 1999 Our results were in concordance with earlier studies in North Indians (Gupta et al, 1991, Kanga et al, 2004, Sanjeevi et al, 1999, Witt et al, 2002. However, we also observed DRB1*07:01(p<7x10 -6 , OR= 0.16), DRB1*04:03 (p< 0.02, OR=0.25) and DRB1*04:04 (p< 0.05, OR= 0.2) to be significantly decreased in the patients as compared to controls.…”
