Abstract:Individual guardian angel belief is one aspect of Second-Temple Jewish angelology that infiltrated early Christianity. In Mtt. 18:10, these angels were referred to as guards to people, especially those whom Jesus referred to as ‘the little ones.’ Jesus’ mention of this second temple angelology explains the popularity of this angelic belief within Jesus’ time.
