HoLEP: a platinum standard for modern benign prostatic hyperplasia treatment
Edward J Bass,
Ben J Challacombe
Abstract:Holmium laser enucleation of the prostate has been shown to offer a number of advantages over transurethral resection of the prostate and yet uptake of the technique to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia is slow. The authors examine the technique and look at some of the reasons it has not become the treatment of choice for a condition that affects more and more men as they age.
