“…Our elicitation models are based on eye-tracking data and this increases the practicality of our approach, considering that eye-trackers become cheaper, smaller, and more robust, they are integrated into varying technological frameworks, such as mobile devices [Han et al 2012] and head-mounted displays [Barz et al 2016], and they have already been used and evaluated within cultural-heritage contexts [Mokatren et al 2017, Pedersen et al 2017. Regarding new technological frameworks, it is worth mentioning that the current shift towards more immersive technological paradigms, like augmented-(AR), virtual-(VR), and mixed-(MR) reality, and their adoption in the cultural-heritage domain [Ardito et al 2018, Pollalis et al 2017] introduces new opportunities for cultural-heritage stakeholders to create visually enriched visit experiences by blending the physical and the virtual worlds. We expect our approach to perform adequately in such immersive and natural environments which are heavily based on eye-gaze interaction given that there is evidence that they influence the degree of the effect of cognitive styles on activity objectives ], which we expect to improve the elicitation performance.…”
