Abstract:Evolution of two novel feeding strategies among caenogastropod molluscs, suspension feeding in calyptraeids such as Crepidula fornicata and predatory feeding with a pleurembolic proboscis among neogastropods, may have both involved elongation of the anterior esophagus.
