“…However, the classical theory does not consider the influence of non‐covalent interactions on the reactivity of monomers. As it was shown in previous publication, one can use the analysis of the impact of the initial monomer concentrations on the W 0 /[ M ] 0 values to evaluate the degree of the deviation of polymerization systems from the classical polymerization and to undertake a comparative analysis of the impact of the pre‐reaction interactions on the activity of the different monomers. We used similar approach to define the role of the monomer association in the radical homopolymerization of DMAPA and DMAPMA.…”

“…The effects caused by monomer association resulting in the deviation from the classical laws of radical polymerization were revealed earlier for the solution homo‐ and copolymerization of amine‐ and (or) amide‐containing (meth)acrylic monomers. Recently the formation of monomer assemblies with interposition of vinyl groups favorable for the polymerization was shown to be the reason of anomalous acceleration of the homopolymerization of higher alkyl acrylates and N‐alkylacrylamides in toluene. For the radical copolymerization of dodecyl acrylate or dodecyl methacrylate with DMAPMA in toluene, the total initial monomer concentration (at the constant monomer ratio) significantly affects the composition of copolymers obtained at low conversions .…”

“…For the synthesis and analysis of polymer samples, we used the methods that were previously developed for homopolymers and copolymers of higher alkyl methacrylates and alkyl acrylates [20,21] as well as their copolymers with amine-containing methacrylic esters and amides [22], N-alkyl (meth)acrylamides [23], AOEGM [24], and VBE [15]. For the purposes of the comparative assessment of dispersion properties, we also tested, under similar conditions, a number of commercial additives, specifically: polymethacrylate viscosity index improvers Viscoplex 0-220 and Viscoplex 7-610, polymethacrylate dispersant/VII Viscoplex 12-310 (all manufactured by Evonik RohMaX Additives GmbH), succinimide dispersant S-40 (NPP Qualitet, Russia), and thickener Syntolux V-15 (SOVKHIMTEKH, Russia; this represents a VBE homopolymer).…”
