“…; Scoly , Phlor‐di‐glc and Iri‐di‐glc were not detected in the C. maculata samples. Furthermore, a clear decrease in the levels of especially Mang , Isomang and Hd was observed following fermentation , while Iri‐glc was not detected in any of the fermented samples. Also for honeybush samples, a “hump” likely associated with polymeric phenolic material is observed.…”

“…A). The method also proved suitable for the separation of major phenolics in both C. maculata and C. subternata , indicating the potential of developing a “generic” CE method for different honeybush species, something which is challenging by HPLC . The differences in phenolic composition between the two honeybush species are clear from Fig.…”

“…Furthermore, recently, dihydrochalcones were found also in cranberries [33], honeybush herbal tea (Cyclopia ssp.) [34], sofrito, and tomatoes [35]. They were also identified in such plants as Esenbeckia grandiflora subsp.…”

“…The sweet‐associated and fruity aroma notes should be retained during storage to justify this additional processing step during the production of green honeybush tea. Furthermore, storage conditions should have little negative impact on its green leaf color, as well as phenolic content, given that Cyclopia herbal teas are good sources of xanthones and benzophenones …”

“…Furthermore, storage conditions should have little negative impact on its green leaf color, as well as phenolic content, given that Cyclopia herbal teas are good sources of xanthones and benzophenones. 6 Honeybush herbal tea is usually bulk packaged and remains on the factory site for several weeks before retail packaging or transportation to packaging facilities or depots from where the bulk product is shipped for export. Stored under suboptimal conditions, the product may experience accelerated degradation of quality, however, knowledge of the effect of storage conditions on the quality of green honeybush is lacking.…”
