‘Horse tripping’: animal welfare laws and the production of ethnic Mexican illegality

Abstract: Conflicts over animal practices have long been used to construct dynamics of power. This essay examines how debates over immigrant animal practices contribute to the production of immigrant 'illegality' in the contemporary USA.
