Hospital Utilization Under the Canadian National Hospital Insurance Program

Abstract: An overview is presented of the Canadian Hospital Insurance Program and the utilization of hospital service. The higher utilization rates in Canada than in the United States and their increase since the inauguration of universal hospital insurance are analyzed.
