Abstract:The invasive fall army worm Spodoptera frugiperda (J E Smith) is a major global agricultural pest, originally from tropical and subtropical America, now affecting over 80 plant species across Africa, Asia, and beyond. This study examines its host preferences and developmental dynamics, focusing on four host plants: Zea mays L., Glycine max L., Carica papaya L., and Brassica oleraceae var. acephala L.
