Hotel Kalahari: “You can Check Out Any Time you Like, But you can Never Leave”

Abstract: This article relates the author's experience in the Kalahari, South Africa, to theory in a reflexive, self-conscious, and critical manner. With that intention, the article discusses the Bushmen as individual people rather than as a more abstract social phenomenon or problem and examines what might be done to ensure a more realistic and equitable portrayal of the people of the Kalahari to the world through the media.
