How Do Mobile Social Apps Matter for College Students’ Satisfaction in Group-Based Learning? The Mediation of Collaborative Learning

Abstract: Recently, many universities apply mobile tools to teaching practices. For instance, some teachers may set up groups on mobile social apps and assign course tasks and advise college students to submit papers online. Nevertheless, how these mobile social apps affect teaching practices, especially the process of students’ satisfaction needs to be further explored. To fill this research gap, we build a theoretical model of how mobile social apps’ functions affect course satisfaction from the perspective of Media R… Show more

“…Factor scores for the selected indicators were all higher than 0.6, which indicates that the observed variables can effectively reflect the four latent variables of perceived value, fan expectation, fan identification, and fan satisfaction. CR is another method of determining the questionnaire's reliability (Wang et al, 2022). The reported CR was higher than 0.70, which indicated satisfactory reliability.…”

“…The association between the analyzed variables cannot be verified simply by traditional regression analysis methods because they cannot be measured directly. Therefore, in this study, SPSS26.0 software and AMOS24.0 software were used to test and evaluate the validity of the scale and the overall model by structural equation modeling (Youssef et al, 2017;Wang et al, 2022).…”

“…The scale of all variables was included in the confirmatory factor analysis. The method uses Cronbach's Alpha coefficient and composite reliability (CR) to determine the reliability of the questionnaire and the internal consistency between variables (Shi et al, 2022;Wang et al, 2022). If the alpha value is greater than 0.7, a combined reliability of more than 0.6 indicates internal consistency between the observed and latent variables.…”

“…The degree of individual collaboration in the project or task usually influences the learning satisfaction perceived by students (Jiménez‐Zarco et al, 2015). Consequently, in recent years, collaborative learning has been more and more identified as a key element to support students' satisfaction especially when using web‐based learning tools (e.g., Oluwajana et al, 2021; Wang et al, 2022). In addition, university students' engagement in social networking platforms has a positive impact on their learning process, because established social networks help them attain acceptance from others and adapt to university culture (Moghavvemi, Paramanathan, et al, 2017).…”
