Abstract:The 2010 dietary cholesterol recommendations were derived from guidelines established in the 1960s, when little scientific evidence was present, other than the possible association between saturated fat and dietary cholesterol, as well as animal studies, in which cholesterol was fed in amounts that exceeded typical or normal intakes.
