“…A comparison of the structural types of one-dimensional copper and silver iodobismuthates is presented in Figure 5 . The most common isomer of [{Bi 2 Ag 2 I 10 } n ] 2n− is represented by six compounds [ 25 , 26 , 41 , 42 ], while the least common types are represented by only one example each [ 20 , 28 ].…”

“… Overview of one-dimensional anions of copper and silver iodobismuthates and their band gaps in eV taken from literature (Feldmann, 2001 [ 20 ]; Chai, 2007 [ 25 ]; Chai, 2007 [ 26 ]; Möbs, 2020 [ 28 ], Möbs, 2022 [ 27 ]; Shentseva, 2022 [ 41 ], Shentseva, 2022 [ 42 ]). In compound from [ 20 ] ( top left ), the band gap for copper iodobismuthate was not provided.…”

“…Examples include [MV][BiI 5 ] (where MV 2+ = methyl viologen), which contains one-dimensional chains of corner-sharing [BiI 6 ] 3− octahedra and exhibits a band gap of 1.48 eV [34], and [C 3 H 5 N 2 S][BiI 4 ], which has a band gap of 1.78 eV and contains one-dimensional chains of edgesharing octahedra [52]. Incorporation of additional metals to form ternary iodobismuthates, such as [HPy] 2 [Py][CuBi 3 I 12 ] (where Py = pyridine) which has a band gap of 1.59 eV [53], may provide an alternative approach to achieve significant reductions in the band gap [54].…”

“…26 This topic is covered in many studies specifically focused on Bi(III) compounds. [27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34] Unfortunately, known examples of heterometallic halide iodoantimonates are quite scarce. A brief search in Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC) gives eight examples: six Sb/Cu heteroleptic heterometallic hybrids [35][36][37] three tris-o-(tolyl)phosphine-templated compounds with the anion formula [Sb a I b (Cu(P(o-Tol) 3 ) c )], 35 two solvent-coordinated compounds [PPh 4 ] 2 [SbCu 2 I 7 (L)] 36 (L = acetonitrile, propionitrile), and four-centered [SbCu 3 I 6 (PPh 3 ) 6 ].…”
