“…For pratical uses, it permits to establish that EEG and ergospirometry are the minimum set of instrumentation we can use without ECG to diagnose impairments for this kind of patients. Conversely, without ergospirometry, there is a lack of effectiveness in the probable diagnosis and it could dangerous to proceed with rehabilitation or surgical intervention even if some research has illustrated an alternative way of determining LF and HF components using wavelet-based algorithm for calibration [22]; this alternative way, that acts as calibration as it is done in this paper, is not sufficient and enough for the purposes of our research.…”

“…After the application of the detrending procedure, the peak detection algorithm [18] was applied for 60s time segments for radar BCG signal and BCG ref signal and the heart rate are calculated. For signals of a set of five volunteers simultaneously acquired, the registered errors on the heart rate estimation, using the rBCG, were greater in about 2% than the registered errors when the BCG ref signal is used.…”

“…The HRV measurement is generally performed using time domain methods including statistical methods, and frequency domain methods mainly based on FFT [11]. Developed to overcome the drawbacks of traditional Fourier analysis, simultaneously providing time and frequency information ,the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) [12] is applied in the HRV studies [13] taking also into account that WT analysis is not restricted to stationary signals and can also be used for signals obtained for reduced recorded time (1-2 minutes). A limitation of the method consists in the choice of basic wavelet function (the mother wavelet).…”

“…However, experimental tests were done to find the optimal mother wavelet solution for the particular case of HRV. Mother wavelets such as Daubechies 04 prove to be an appropriate solution [13]. The LabVIEW functions used to extract the HRV considering the approximation and details were: WA DWT.vi, WA Get coefficients of DWT.vi, WA Set coefficients of DWT.vi, WA Inverse DWT.vi.…”
