Abstract:An empirical classification of certain coping strategies from Ch. Carver’s studies is presented. Hierarchic approach to coping behavior (coping-actions, coping strategies, coping styles) was used. The sample consisted of 1 469 students. Using the method of cluster analysis, we identified productive, unproductive coping styles, as well as externally-oriented coping-style, which positively correlates with both productive and unproductive styles.
