Water resources are scarce and difficult to manage in Kazakhstan, Central Asia (CA). Anthropic activities largely eliminated the Aral Sea. Afghanistan’s large-scale canal construction may eliminate life in the main stream of the Amu Darya River, CA. Kazakhstan’s HYRASIA ONE project, with a EUR 50 billion investment to produce green hydrogen, is targeted to withdraw water from the Caspian Sea. Kazakhstan, CA, requires sustainable programs that integrate both decision-makers’ and people’s behavior. For this paper, the authors investigated groundwater resources for sustainable use, including for consumption, and the potential for natural “white” hydrogen production from underground geological “factories”. Kazakhstan is rich in natural resources, such as iron-rich rocks, minerals, and uranium, which are necessary for serpentinization reactions and radiolysis decay in natural hydrogen production from underground water. Investigations of underground geological “factories” require substantial efforts in field data collection. A chemical analysis of 40 groundwater samples from the 97 wells surveyed and investigated in the T. Ryskulov, Zhambyl, Baizak and Zhualy districts of the Zhambyl region in South Kazakhstan in 2021–2022 was carried out. These samples were compared with previously collected water samples from the years 2020–2021. The compositions of groundwater samples were analyzed, revealing various concentrations of different minerals, natural geological rocks, and anthropogenic materials. South Kazakhstan is rich in natural mineral resources. As a result, mining companies extract resources in the Taraz–Zhanatas–Karatau and the Shu–Novotroitsk industrial areas. The most significant levels of minerals found in water samples were found in the territory of the Talas–Assinsky interfluve, where the main industrial mining enterprises are concentrated and the largest groundwater deposits have been explored. Groundwater compositions have direct connections to geological rocks. The geological rocks are confined to sandstones, siltstones, porphyrites, conglomerates, limestones, and metamorphic rocks. In observation wells, a number of components can be found in high concentrations (mg/L): sulfates—602.0 (MPC 500 mg/L); sodium—436.5 (MPC 200 mg/L); chlorine—465.4 (MPC 350 mg/L); lithium—0.18 (MPC 0.03 mg/L); boron—0.74 (MPC 0.5 mg/L); cadmium—0.002 (MPC 0.001 mg/L); strontium—15, 0 (MPC 7.0 mg/L); and TDS—1970 (MPC 1000). The high mineral contents in the water are natural and comprise minerals from geological sources, including iron-rich rocks, to uranium. Proper groundwater classifications for research investigations are required to separate potable groundwater resources, wells, and areas where underground geological “factories” producing natural “white” hydrogen could potentially be located. Our preliminary investigation results are presented with the aim of creating a large-scale targeted program to improve water sustainability in Kazakhstan, CA.

Anthropogenic and industrial activities triggering an alteration on the natural cadmium and nitrogen cycle are deliberated on as one among the most vital environmental concerns. Water quality index (WQI) and skewness, nitrate was 8.37 ± 1.014 in dry season and 3087.87 ± 1.150 for wet season, but cadmium was 0 ± 1.559 in wet season and zero all through the sunny period. Equating results with World Health Organization (WHO) permissible limits, it discovered that nitrate was low throughout both seasons whereas cadmium was 90% above permissible during rainy season, but 100% within limit throughout arid season. The water-physiques in all sites at Ikpoba River in both seasons revealed low disparities (< 20%) with positive linear relationship (R 0.922 ≥ 0.211) for nitrate and (R 0 ≤ 089) for cadmium in dry and wet seasons respectively. What's more, site 1 in the wet season, and all sites in dry season, exhibited no significant dissimilarities (p >0.05) between them, but others indicated significant dissimilarity (p <0.05) for cadmium and nitrate concentrations. In respect to seasonality, all water-physiques scrutinized revealed significant dissimilarities (p <0.05) for both seasons (nitrate and phosphate) concentration. The cadmium-nitrate ratio was very high particularly in the humid season because of the high input of nitrate. The nutrient contagion index displayed slightly to significantly contagion, whereas the water physiques will pose very high non-carcinogenic health risks and threats to users through the oral pathway.

Precipitation erosivity propels detrimental hydrological happenings with substantial eco-friendly and socio-economic influences. The conception of the precipitation-vegetation interface is very vital for implementing acclimatization and mitigation techniques for terrestrial bionetworks. Numerous investigations have reconnoitered the spatial correlation of precipitation-vegetation context along the season-precipitation quantity gradient. Here, comprehensive scrutiny of spatio-temporal patterns of climatology-vegetation response to seasonal variability incongruities in River Ikpoba, southern Nigeria, using principal component scrutiny (PCS), semivariogram, cross-validation statistics, spatial distribution mapping, and hydrological indicators for multi-source climatic datasets for pre-impact flow (1913–1966) and post-impact flow (1967–2022). PCS outcomes reveal seven PCs whose eigenvalues were greater than one were hauled out of the twenty-five variables. The River Ikpoba water quality variables displayed a moderately strong rate of spatial reliance, which made it possible to create the spatial distribution map for the carefully chosen water quality variables. Results from further scrutiny of the river Ikpoba flow duration curve show the highest flow rate value between 900–1000cms for the month of October. The post-impact flow's highest value was 65cms in 2008, whereas the pre-impact flow was 64cms. Likewise, 90 days’ minimum highest flow rate was 250cms, 30 days was 1180cms, 7 days was 105cms, and 1 day was 105cms. Whereas the maximum for 1 day was 7200cms, 3 days’ value was 6400cms and 7 days' was 4500cms. This indicates that as the day progressed, the flow rate was increasing for a consecutive 30 days at a low flow rate, but at 90 days it declined.
