Abstract: Human herpesviruses 6 and 7 were infrequently found in cerebrospinal fluid of children with central nervous system infection.

DNA PCR found HHV6 in only 3 of 245 CSF samples from children less than 2 months of age with possible sepsis or neurologic symptoms (Ansari et al., 2004).
